Generals Trade Payne to Plymouth Whalers

Oshawa, Ontario - November 2nd, 2011 - Oshawa Generals Head Coach and General Manager Chris DePiero announced today that the team has traded centre Cody Payne to the Plymouth Whalers in exchange for Plymouth's 3rd round selection in the 2012 OHL Entry Draft along with a conditional Plymouth's 6th round draft pick in 2015.

Payne was in his second season with the Generals after being the team's 3rd round pick in 2010. During his time with the Generals he played in 60 regular season games, scoring 3 goals and 12 assists for 15 points along with 47 penalty minutes and a +6 rating.

A native of Weston, Florida, Payne played in the 2011 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament for Team USA. He is eligible for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.

The entire Generals organization wishes Cody nothing but the best with his new team, new town, and all his future endeavours both on and off the ice.
