Owen Sound Attack News Release

On Tuesday night, every player and member of the coaching staff made the trip to Hanover to participate in a full practice that would assist in raising money for Hanover Minor Hockey's jersey fund. The players and staff loaded the bus at the Bayshore at 4:00pm and made the trip to Hanover for a 6:00pm practice. Head Coach Greg Ireland put the players through a half dozen fast paced drills to the delight of the hundreds of fans that showed up to see the Attack practice.

"We were delighted with the excellent turnout we had for the practice and skate with the Attack.", stated Hanover Minor Hockey President Steve Fitzsimmons. "Our thanks to the public for their support. It was a pleasure hosting the OHL Champs and we look forward to working with them again in the future. We must also thank our sponsors, The town of Hanover, Kunkel Bus Lines and the Hanover Post for partnering with us on the event. Without them there was no event."

Following the 50 minute practice, hundreds of kids took to the ice for a half hour skate with the Attack. "It was great to see such a large turnout.", said Attack Director of Marketing and Public Relations Brent Fisher. "Hanover is a great hockey town with very enthusiastic fans. It was very rewarding for our staff and players to see the smile on the kids and parents faces."

Admission to the Attack practice and skate was by donation and the event saw $1459.00 raised for Hanover Minor Hockey's Jersey Fund.

The Attack is back in action this weekend when they travel to Ottawa, Belleville and Kingston for their annual Eastern road swing.
