IceCats' win streak lassoed by Rampage
February 15, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Worcester IceCats News Release
WORCESTER, MA- The Worcester IceCats attempt at winning three games in three days was stymied in a 2-1 loss to the San Antonio Rampage Sunday at Worcester's Centrum Centre.
Josh Olson scored both goals for the Rampage, his 13th and 14 of the season. The game-winner came on a five-on-three man advantage after Peter Sejna joined Igor Valeev in the penalty box. Goalie Travis Scott, a former IceCat, made 35 saves for the win.
Sejna avenged that power play goal by scoring his seventh of the season. With 3:09 remaining, he cut the deficit by redirecting Sergei Varlamov's blueline wrister to get the Sejna has points in seven of his last eight games.
Worcester generated a slew of scoring opportunities after Sejna scored, but Scott slammed the door as the âCats pressured for the equalizer. The âCats maintained second place in the Atlantic Division despite the loss.
Worcester travels to Bridgeport this Tuesday for a rare weekday 4:05 PM game versus the Sound Tigers.
Next Home Game â After a three-game stint on the road, the âCats will host Lowell on Friday, February 27 at 7:05 PM. One lucky fan will win a trip to New Orleans!
