Hershey Bears News Release

Steve Brule scored the only goal of the game early in the third period as the BEARS shutout the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 1-0 at the Arena at Harbor Yard.

The BEARS allowed just 12 shots on goal through two periods to the Sound Tigers. A great defensive effort led by Bruce Richardson and Dean Arsene held the Tigers to just seven first period shots and just five blasts in the second stanza.

HERSHEY got on the board in the third period on a power play goal by Brule. Martin Hlinka picked up his third point in a BEARS uniform on the goal. Tom Lawson earned his team leading fourth shutout of the season, making 18 saves.

The BEARS are off until Friday when they begin a home-and-home series with Philadelphia. Face-off at the Spectrum Friday is at 7:05 p.m.
