IceCats Blood Drive Results Announced

Worcester IceCats News Release


Worcester, MA- The Worcester IceCats and Peterson Oil Service today announced the results from their annual five-day blood drive with the American Red Cross.

The blood drive, which was held at the Plantation Street American Red Cross Blood Donor Center in Worcester, saw over 500 donors give of their time and blood to this very worthy cause. The total number of usable pints checked in at 431 pints.

"The Worcester IceCats, Peterson Oil Service and the American Red Cross are pleased with the donor turnout, especially during the holiday week before Christmas", commented Jeff Rice, Corporate Marketing Manager for the Worcester IceCats. He went on to express, "Thanks to IceCats fans who contributed, we were again able to help build reserves in the New England Region."

By donating, each person was rewarded with a pair of IceCats game ticket vouchers and a distinctive "Give Blood, Play Hockey" IceCats/Peterson Oil T-shirt. The IceCats mascot Scratch, was also on hand greeting and signing autographs for donors.

Worcester is on the road for five straight games starting Friday and Saturday in Saint John, New Brunswick. The 'Cats return home to the Centrum Centre on Wednesday, January 15th with a 7:05 game against Springfield.
