IceCaps Release 2015-16 Regular Season Schedule

ST. JOHN'S, NL (August 27, 2015) - The St. John's IceCaps, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, announced the release of its 2015-16 regular season schedule today.

St. John's will launch its first season as the proud affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, October 10th at Hartford before heading to Bridgeport the next day for a tilt with the Sound Tigers. The IceCaps' home opener is Friday, October 16th versus the Rochester Americans, marking the first time in franchise history the IceCaps will host the Amerks.

The top prospects of the Toronto Maple Leafs (Toronto Marlies) will play the IceCaps at Mile One Centre six times, the first series slated for November 13th and 14th. Fans will take note that the IceCaps contest versus the Marlies originally scheduled for January 15th has been moved to January 17th.

IceCaps fans will get their first-ever look at North Division rival, the Utica Comets (Vancouver Canucks) on February 5th and 6th at Mile One.

Other points of interest include:

- For the second-consecutive season the IceCaps finish the season with six straight home games - only the second time the IceCaps have ever concluded the regular season at Mile One Centre;

- The regular season finishes on Saturday, April 16th as the IceCaps host the Hartford Wolf Pack;

- Of the IceCaps' 38 home games, 28 will take place on weekends, including 14 on Saturdays, nine on Fridays and five on Sunday afternoons. Of the remaining 10 home dates, five will take place on Tuesdays and five on Wednesdays;

- The IceCaps - who will compete this season in the newly-formed North Division (with Toronto, Utica, Rochester, Binghamton Senators, Syracuse Crunch and Albany Devils) - will host division foes 26 times; and,

- The longest homestand for St. John's is six games, which occurs five times, while the lengthiest road trip is seven games - March 18th-29th. The IceCaps' busiest months of the season are January and March, when the club will play 13 contests.

Game time for all home games is 7:30 pm NST, with the exception of the five Sunday contests which begin at 4:00 pm. IceCaps season tickets are still available and can be purchased in person at the Mile One Centre box office, by phone at 709-576-7657 or online at www.mileonecentre.com.
