Charlotte Checkers News Release

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The American Hockey League today announced the 2015-16 regular-season schedule for its 30 member clubs.

Beginning with their home opener and historic return to Bojangles' Coliseum to face the Manitoba Moose on Saturday, Nov. 7, the Checkers will enjoy 26 prime weekend home dates, including 13 Saturdays, both of which are their most since joining the AHL in 2010. Single-game tickets for opening night will go on sale Thursday, Sept. 22, with other home games to follow shortly thereafter.

While awaiting the completion of renovations at Bojangles' Coliseum, the Checkers will begin their sixth AHL season with a 10-game road swing starting in Iowa on Saturday, Oct. 10. Other highlights include the team's first-ever trip to California to face new Pacific Division opponents San Jose, Ontario and San Diego starting Jan. 2 and the return of the popular Race and Pink in the Rink Weekends on Jan. 22-23 and Feb. 12-13, respectively.

The Checkers, who will begin play in the new Central Division as part of the AHL's realignment announced earlier this summer, will face 12 different opponents for a total of 76 games.

Season tickets, mini plans and group outings for the 2015-16 season at Bojangles' Coliseum can be purchased by calling (704) 342-4423. A full promotional schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
