IceCaps Keep Hot Streak Alive with 2-1 Overtime Win

Julian Brouillette assisted on the tying goal and scored the overtime winner as the St. John's IceCaps edged the Lehigh Valley Phantoms 2-1 Saturday night at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

The win gives the IceCaps points in five consecutive games.

The Phantoms opened scoring at the 12:51 mark of the first period as Petr Straka slipped one past IceCaps goalie Connor Hellebuyck in a goal-mouth scramble. Brenden Kichton tied the game at 2:22 of the second period on the powerplay as he teed up a hard slap shot that went top shelf past Phantom netminder Rob Zepp. Brouillette and Carl Klingberg picked up assists.

Brouillette sealed the win at 3:43 of extra time, cruising in from the blueline and lifting a back-hander under the bar. Eric O'Dell was awarded an assist on the play.
