ST. JOHN'S, NL - Morgan Ellis notched a pair as the St. John's IceCaps snapped a five-game losing skid with a 6-4 win over the Toronto Marlies Sunday at Mile One Centre.

Markus Eisenschmid scored a highlight reel shorthanded goal for his first pro tally while Daniel Carr, Lucas Lessio and Gabriel Dumont - into an empty-net - also scored for the home side. Darren Dietz picked up a pair of assists and Ryan Johnston, in his second pro game, notched his first pro point.

Zach Fucale stopped 30-of-34 shots in the win, as the IceCaps split the two-game series with the rival Marlies.

The IceCaps head out on a six-game road trip beginning Wednesday night in Bridgeport against the Sound Tigers. Catch all the action with Brian Rogers at www.stjohnsicecaps.com, 930AM and www.ahllive.com.

The IceCaps return home in February for a six-game home stand beginning on Friday and Saturday the 5th and 6th versus the Utica Comets for a special tribute to the Royal Newfoundland Regiment.
