
Ice win over Hitmen

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen opened the 2015 Western Hockey League Playoffs with a 4-3 setback to the Kootenay Ice on Friday evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Luke Philp scored twice and an added an assist to lead the Ice with three points while Tyler King and Jaedon Descheneau added singles.
It was Descheneau's goal, shorthanded, midway through the third period that gave Kootenay a 4-2 lead and stood as the game winner.
Jake Bean, Kenton Helgesen and Connor Rankin replied for Calgary who trailed 2-1 after the first period and 3-2 after 40 minutes.
The Hitmen outshot Kootenay 32-31, including 11-5 in the third period, but were unable to produce the tying goal.
Radel Fazleev chipped in a pair of assists to extend his point streak to six games.
The Hitmen and Ice play Game 2 of the best-of-seven series on Sunday, Mar. 29, at 4:00 p.m. at the 'Dome. A buffet will be served in the Chrysler Club before each home playoff game, with doors opening 90 minutes prior to puck drop.
