Ice Pilots Earn Point in Shootout Loss

BILOXI, MS - Brian McGregor scored his first two professional goals but Mississippi's Travis Lisabeth scored the lone goal in the sixth round of the shootout as the Sea Wolves defeated the Ice Pilots (1-3-1) 4-3 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

The Ice Pilots took a 1-0 lead at 16:30 of the first period as McGregor beat Mississippi goaltender Morgan Cey. Mark Rooneem evened the score 1:42 later. In the second period the Ice Pilots regained the lead at 2-1 as Mike Tuomi netted his first ECHL goal. However, Mississippi fought back and Travis Lisabeth beat Doug Groenestege and the Ryan Menei gave the Sea Wolves their first lead of the night.

Pensacola rallied in the third period as McGregor netted his second of the night to even the score at three. Both teams would play a scoreless overtime and then in the shootout it took six rounds but Travis Lisabeth beat Groenestege for the game winner.

Each team finished with a power play goal as the Ice Pilots went 1 for 3 and Mississippi finished 1 for 7.
