Ice Flyers Lose 3-1 to Thunderbolts

PENSACOLA, FL. - The Pensacola Ice Flyers were in Evansville, Indiana for the second game vs. the Thunderbolts this weekend. It was the last game between the two teams of the regular season. Evansville had the upper hand for the second night in a row winning 3-1. Nick Lazorko, Robbie Hall, and Chase Nieuwendyk scored for the Thunderbolts. Ice Flyers Ken Neil scored the lone goal for Pensacola. Ian Sylves was in net for Evansville and recorded 27 saves on 28 shots. Pensacola's Brian Billet had 20 saves on 22 shots.

Punches were thrown in the first with two fights between the teams before either team got on the board. It wasn't until the 9:50 mark before a goal was made. Evansville's Nick Lazorko scored with assists by Carter Shinkaruk and John Scorcia.

Pensacola led with shots for the second period in a row, but remained scoreless. Robbie Hall of Evansville scored the lone goal of the second to go up 2-0 on the Ice Flyers. It was assisted by Dave Williams and Chase Nieuwendyk at 12:25.

The third was a bit chippy with 6 penalties between the team. At the 16:11 mark in the 3rd, the Ice Flyers had life remaining as Ken Neil scored a power play goal with assists by Garrett Milan and Troy Vance. With under a minute to go, Evansville capitalized on the empty net with goal to go up 3-1. Goal was scored by Chase Nieuwendyk unassisted at 19:14.
