Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release
The Pensacola Ice Flyers are pleased to be taking place in three special events: a December 9 kick-off party for Hurlburt Field's roller hockey league, a December 19 Teddy Bear Toss, and Military Appreciation this weekend.
On December 9, those with a valid military I.D. are invited to help kick-off Hurlburt Field's roller hockey league. From 3-5 p.m. families, fans, and hockey enthusiasts are invited to Hurlburt Field's youth center. Multiple goals will be set up for kids to shoot on, and players from the Pensacola Ice Flyers will be on hand to give some instruction, sign autographs, and meet with fans. Once fans meet the players in person they are invited to take part in a special event ten days later.
December 19 the Ice Flyers invite fans of all ages to a Teddy Bear Toss game against Columbus at 7:05 p.m. All fans are invited to bring a teddy bear to the game and, after the Ice Flyers score their first goal of the evening, toss the bears onto the ice. The bears will be collected and the next week the Ice Flyers will deliver the teddy bears to Sacred Heart Children's Hospital.
This weekend the Ice Flyers are hosting Military Appreciation Weekend sponsored by Kia. The Ice Flyers will play Mississippi at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, and Louisiana at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday. Both hockey games are at the Civic Center and will feature a salute to our military and special discounts for all fans with a military I.D.
