PENSACOLA, FL. (March 20, 2015) - After trailing by two, the Pensacola Ice Flyers fight back to defeat the Louisiana Ice Gators with a final score of 4-3 on Friday night at the Pensacola Bay Center.

It wasn't until less than a minute in the opening period that the first goal of the game would be scored. It was Louisiana's Brian Berger who put the Ice Gators in the lead heading into the locker room up 1-0 over Pensacola.

Seven minutes and eight seconds into the second, the Ice Gators took advantage of hooking call on Zach Josepher and went up by two with a power-play goal from Matt Viola with Kirk Byczynski and Shawn McNeil in on assists. Just under a minute and a half later the Ice Flyers moved within one with their own power-play goal courtesy of Nick Larson. After forty minutes of play Pensacola found themselves trailing 2-1.

Adam Pawlick managed to fight off a Louisiana defender and sniped a shot past Marco De Filippo to make it an even contest at the 4:25 mark of the final period. With under four minutes left in regulation, a turn over in the Ice Gators' zone was taken by Nick McParland who dished it off to Keegan Flaherty in front of the net and he found the back of the net to give Pensacola their first lead of the game.

With just over a minute left, De Filippo made his way to Louisiana's bench for the extra attacker. Soon after McParland took advantage of the empty net and increased the Ice Flyers lead by two with exactly one minute remaining.

An altercation between Pensacola's Brandon Blair and Louisiana's Benjamin Rubin lead to a power-play for the Ice Gators with twenty-two second remaining. With De Filippo still on the bench, Louisiana's Dan Cornell managed to score a late goal with five seconds remaining to pull the Gators back within one. The ensuing face-off was controlled by Pensacola and the Ice Flyers would run down the last seconds to walk away with a 4-3 victory.
