Ice Dogs Sign Defenseman Joe Markusen

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Ice Dogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Malcolm Cameron, announced today he has agreed to terms with defenseman Joe Markusen. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6-foot, 185 pound native of Grafton, North Dakota joins Gary Zinck as one of the barriers opposing teams will have to face this season when trying to score. Markusen has played the last four seasons at Michigan State University, registering 3 goals, 27 assists and 142 penalty minutes in 155 games. This season with the Ice Dogs will be his first as a professional.

"Joe comes from an excellent collegiate program that has produced numerous NHL players", said Cameron. "He'll be a solid, stay-at-home defenseman for our team."

Season tickets for the 2004-2005 season are on sale now in all price ranges. Fans who pay in full by August 1st will receive an exclusive season ticket holder jersey.
