Ice Dogs add 2 more before training camp

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Long Beach Ice Dogs announced today that forward Ash Goldie and defenseman Chris Busby have agreed to terms for the 2005-2006 season. As per club policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Goldie, a 5'9", 175 pound center from London, Ontario, played the last four years at Michigan State University. In 160 collegiate games, he scored 37 goals, 56 assists and had 70 penalty minutes.

"Goldie is a skilled, crafty centerman who comes from a top collegiate program at Michigan State and we're excited to see what he can bring to the team during training camp."

Busby, a 6'0", 174 pound defenseman from Kenilworth, Illinois, began his collegiate career at Brown University before transferring to the University of Miami (Ohio) his sophomore year. In 140 collegiate games he had 5 goals, 21 assists and 122 penalty minutes. Last season he also played in two playoff games with the Fort Wayne Komets of the UHL.

"Busby is a good, hard working stay-at-home defenseman who's forte is blocking shots and killing penalties. We're looking forward to seeing him here when training camp opens on the 8th."
