Fresno Falcons News Release
FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons have re-signed centerman Derek Krestanovich to a contract for the upcoming 2005-06 ECHL season.
Krestanovich is the top returning scorer from last year's club, as he finished fourth on the team and led all Falcons rookies with 43 points (20g-23a). His 20 goals were the third most on the team. The second-year pro was selected by the Washington Capitals in the 3rd round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
"Anytime you can return a 20-goal scorer, that's sure to add some punch to your offense," said Falcons head coach and general manager Matt Thomas. "Derek is a guy teams in the American Hockey League have their eye on. He's a young pro with a bright future ahead of him, and we're excited to have him back."
Current Falcons roster for the 2005-06 season:
Forwards (11) - Brad Both, Fraser Clair, Luke Curtin, Korey Diehl, Peter Fregoe, Brett Hammond, Derek Krestanovich, Shawn Mather, JF Plourde, Scott Rozendal, John Wroblewski
Defensemen (6) - Cramer Hickey, Cory Murphy, Matt O'Dette, Dan Rohanna, Dustin VanBallegooie, Shawn Weiman
Goaltender (1) - Brett Jaeger
