
Ice Bears' Craigen Secures 200th Coaching Victory

Knoxville, TN- Knoxville Ice Bears Head Coach Mike Craigen secured his 200th career coaching victory tonight as Jason Price had a goal and two assists, Andrew Bonazza and Robbie Donahoe each had a goal and an assist as Knoxville defeated Columbus 5-2.
Midway through the first Danny Cesarz's shot from the left circle was blocked. He collected his own rebound, circled back behind the net, then made a quick turn-and-shoot from the bottom of the right circle over the shoulder of Mavric Parks to give Knoxville the only goal of the period.
Jonathan Turk knotted the game on the power play with a shot from behind the goal line that bounced off of Brian Billet's pad and into the net behind him at 5:38. Trever Hertz stole the puck from Alex Kromm behind the Columbus net and scored to put Knoxville ahead 2-1. Craig Simchuk beat Billet from the left circle to tie the game again before Bonazza's goal at 12:19 put the Ice Bears ahead going into the second intermission.
Donahoe gave Knoxville its first two-goal lead 4:37 into the third with a goal from the slot. Price notched his eighth of the season when he received a pass in the left circle from the opposite corner and beat Parks with less than three minutes remaining.
The Knoxville Ice Bears continue their homestand Saturday, March 4th for Super Hero Night. Knoxville Ice Bears superhero capes will be provided to the first 1000 kids 12 and under - capes courtesy of Koontz Plumbing and Mechanical.
