Knoxville, TN - David Brancik scored the overtime winner and the Knoxville Ice Bears beat the Huntsville Havoc 2-1 on Friday night at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum.

The win snaps a three-game skid for Knoxville. The goal was Brancik's second of the season and first since early November. He also had an assist on the team's first tally.

Lucas Bombardier worked the puck out of the right corner and found Elliot Grauer in the right circle. Grauer dropped it back to Brancik in the slot and his wrist shot beat the glove of Keegan Asmundson.

Both teams had opportunities in the first period with each side having a shot hit the post. Knoxville failed to convert either of two power play chances while Huntsville failed to capitalize on its only attempt in the opening frame.

The Ice Bears opened the scoring when Brancik carried the puck into the zone down the left wing. He slid it into the slot to Marcus Ortiz, who beat Asmundson down low at 11:10 of the second. Ortiz nearly lit the lamp again shortly after the goal, but his shot from the left circle hit the left post.

Anthony McVeigh tied it for Huntsville with a rebound at 8:54 of the third. Troy Davenport finished with 26 saves for Knoxville. Asmundson finished with 22.

Knoxville will be back in action Saturday night when they host Roanoke for the final time in the regular season. The Ice Bears will be hosting Video Game night where they will host a large video game trailer in the plaza. Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com, puck drop is 7:30 pm.
