Ibrahim Kante signs MISL Offer Sheet

Baltimore, MD – The Baltimore Blast announced today that defender Ibrahim Kante signed an MISL Offer Sheet and is practicing with the team. Kante spent the 2003 season with the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer and can play for the Blast when he gains the proper Visa paperwork.

Kante, a 6-3, 215-pound defender, is a native of Mali, West Africa and played his college soccer at Essex Community College in Maryland and Mercer Community College in New Jersey. He was an All-American selection and team MVP while at Essex. The 22-year-old also played in the Professional Development League for the Chesapeake Dragons and is a former member of the U-17 Mali National Team.

"We are excited about signing Ibrahim who is a player we have watched since his days at Essex," said Blast General Manager Kevin Healey. "He is a very talented player with a tremendous shot."

The Baltimore Blast (16-6, first in the Eastern Division) will host the Kansas City Comets (8-13, second in the Central Division) this Saturday night at 7:35 p.m. at 1st Mariner Arena. Saturday night is the Blast's only home game until February 21 when the team hosts the Cleveland Force.
