TULSA, OK - Tulsa Oilers goaltender Ian Keserich has been named the Oakley CHL Goalie of the Week for the period ending October 23, 2011.

In two games over the opening weekend, Keserich proved once again why he is one of the elite puck stoppers in the CHL. At Allen on Friday night, Keserich made 29 saves as the Oilers rolled over the Americans for a 4-1 victory to start the season. Saturday night at Texas, the 6'2" 200 pound Keserich was locked in and turned aside 34 shots for his fifth career CHL shutout in a 3-0 Oilers win.

Dating back to last season, Keserich is a remarkable 11-0-2 in his last 13 regular season starts. In that stretch, opposing shooters have found it extremely hard to beat Keserich as he has compiled a 2.54 goals against average and a whopping .936 save percentage.

"Ian is one of the best goalies in the league and he gives us a chance to win every single night," said Oilers head coach Bruce Ramsay. "Our guys play very relaxed and confident hockey when they know Ian is in the net and he's such a tremendous asset to our club."

Keserich, a product of Ohio State University, won the CHL Goalie of the Week Award twice last season (Dec. 14 and Jan. 25). For his achievement, Keserich will receive a special gift from Oakley.

The 20th season of Oilers hockey in Tulsa begins this Friday night with the home opener against Wichita at 7:35pm at the BOK Center. The Oilers play the Texas Brahmas at home on Saturday night at 7:35pm before making a trip to Texas for a 4pm game with the Brahmas on Sunday.

Tickets: Season tickets and single game tickets for the Oilers 20th season in the CHL are now on sale. More information is available by calling the Oilers office at (918) 632-PUCK (7825) or by visiting www.tulsaoilers.com.
