Rapid City Rush News Release

(Rapid City, SD) - On Tuesday, the Rapid City Rush unveiled details for the first ever Adopt-A-Player program. Fans have the chance to 'adopt' a Rush player and receive special recognition throughout the entire 2011-12 season. The adopting families will have their name embroidered on a patch that will be donned on the adopted player's jersey for the remainder of the season, and that family will also receive that player's jersey at the end of the year.

Directly after the Rush vs. Dayton Gems game on Friday, October 28th, the Rush players will be auctioned off in a live auction for 19 Adopt-A-Player spots.

For the remainder of the season, the 19 Rush players who are adopted will wear a patch on the back of their jersey with the name of the adopting family on it (this does not include themed jerseys). The family will also be recognized next to their players name on the Rush roster page on rapidcityrush.com.

Also, the adopting families will have a chance to meet their player in the locker room after one home game, and will be recognized at another game at center ice with their player during the pre-game ceremonies.

At the conclusion of the season, adopting families will receive their player's white game-used jersey signed by the player.

Details:

1) There will be no more than 19 adopting families for the entire 2011-2012 season.

2) Should a player be injured but remain on the team, the adopting family will remain with the same player.

3) Should a player be traded or released, the adopting family will automatically receive the incoming player as their adopted player.

4) All 19 of the adopting families will remain throughout the season regardless of the player that family ends the season with and those families will be eligible to attend all events throughout the year regardless of who their player is.

5) A portion of the proceeds from this live auction will go directly to the Rush Foundation
