Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, proud affiliates of the Florida Panthers and San Antonio Rampage, announced a pair of roster moves on Tuesday. The Bees have signed defenseman Adam Bartholomay (5'11, 210) and waived goalie B.J. O'Brien.
Bartholomay (bar-thol-o-may) is set for his fifth season of professional hockey. Last season Bartholomay split time between the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL and Mississippi Surge of the SPHL where he helped lead the Surge to the SPHL Championship.
Bartholomay is no stranger to the CHL spending the 2009-10 season with the Tulsa Oilers where in 55 games he scored seven goals with 13 assists. Bartholomay has also suited up for the Muskegon Fury and Lumberjacks of the IHL along with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.
Bartholomay played collegiately at the University of Nebraska-Omaha with current Bees forward Tomas Klempa and during last year played with both forward Jake Hauswirth in Cincinnati and forward Jason Beeman with Mississippi.
The Bees waived goalie B.J. O'Brien to bring their number of netminders to two with John Murray and Dan Dunn remaining.
The Killer Bees are in action this Friday night as head coach Terry Ruskowski returns to Laredo for the first time in regular season action. Fans can follow the game on 956sports.com and CHL-TV. The Bees return home November 4th and 5th against the Texas Brahmas and the Tulsa Oilers.
