
I-Cubs fall to Oklahoma, 7-4

Andres Torres extended his hit streak to seven games; however the Iowa Cubs lost the back-and-forth game against the Oklahoma RedHawks, 7-4, Sunday afternoon at Principal Park.
Torres singled and was driven in on a double by Josh Kroeger in the fourth inning to break open the scoreless game and take a 2-0 lead.
The RedHawks tied the game 2-2 in the fifth inning when Casey Benjamin doubled in a run and scored on Jason Ellison's RBI single.
Iowa then reclaimed the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the fifth inning as Luis Figueroa and Torres drove in runs but Oklahoma responded with three runs in the sixth inning to put them on top, 5-4.
The RedHawks broke open the one-run game with two more runs in the ninth inning for the 7-4 win.
Mike Burns took the loss for the Cubs while Doug Mathis picked up the win for Oklahoma.
The Cubs and RedHawks meet in game three of their four-game set Monday night at 6:35 p.m.
