Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that left wing Adam Huxley and defenseman Josh Godfrey have been loaned to the American Hockey League. Huxley joins former Wranglers center Scott Campbell with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, and Godfrey reconvenes with Wranglers left wing Josh Lunden for the St. John's IceCaps.
Huxley, 29, has tallied 34 points (18 goals, 16 assists) and 619 penalty minutes in four seasons with the Wranglers, including nine points (3 goals, 6 assists) and 213 penalty minutes this year. The six-foot, 200-pound left wing has two previous stints in the AHL, appearing in five games for the Springfield Falcons in 2008-09 and recording an assist in 18 games with the Chicago Wolves in 2010-11. A native of Wainwright, Alberta, Huxley has played for five ECHL teams since making his league debut in 2003-04 with the Alaska Aces.
Godfrey, 25, has recorded four goals and five assists in his first season with Las Vegas. The six-foot-one, 201-pound blueliner has appeared in the AHL every season for the past five years, adding 15 points (2 goals, 13 assists) to his career tallies with the Hershey Bears and Binghamton Senators. A second-round draft pick by the Washington Capitals in the 2007 NHL Draft, Godfrey holds the ECHL record for hardest slap shot, clocking in at 102.7 mph in the 2011 ECHL All-Star Skills Competition.
The Wranglers start a three-game home stretch against the San Francisco Bulls on Friday, March 1, at 7:05 p.m.
