San Francisco Bulls News Release

LOVELAND, Colo. - The San Francisco Bulls (21-29-1-6) scored four tying goals in regulation, and defeated the Colorado Eagles (27-24-2-3) 5-4 in the shootout, Wednesday night at the Budweiser Events Center. Peter Sivak tied the game late, and Christian Ouellet scored the second short-handed goal in team history in the victory for the Bulls. Dean Ouellet scored the only goal in the shootout, and Thomas Heemskerk had a huge game in net for the Bulls making 35 saves in regulation, and stopping all five Colorado shootout attempts.

Colorado scored the first goal of the game with 7:08 remaining in the period. Steve Haddon scored on a deflection in front of Heemskerk for his seventh goal of the season. Collin Bowman and Ray Kaunisto assisted on the goal. The Bulls quickly tied the game less than two minutes after Colorado had taken the lead. A perfectly-executed rush up the ice by the Bulls led to Cameron scoring his second goal in a San Francisco sweater. Newcomer Yanni Gourde and D. Ouellet assisted on Cameron's 17th goal of the season.

After an early tripping minor to Jordan Clendenning the Eagles took a 2-1 lead on the power play. Trent Daavetilla's shot beat Heemskerk, who was screened on the play. Arthur Bidwill and Kevin Ulanski picked up the assists on Daavetilla's 16th goal of the season scored at 2:02 of the second period. Once again the Bulls had a response. C. Ouellet scored the second short-handed goal of the season for San Francisco with Cody Carlson in the box for cross-checking. C. Ouellet stick-handled around Colorado goaltender Kyle Jones then stuffed the puck into the goal for his 13th goal of the season at 6:34 of the second period. The Eagles regained the lead with 2:24 remaining in the period. Collin Bowman scored his seventh goal of the season from Ulanski and Matt Strueby. Simon Danis-Pepin had the answer for the Bulls when he scored for the third time this season with 1:28 left in the period. Danis-Pepin's shot from the blue line got past a screened Jones. Captain Scott Langdon and D. Ouellet assisted on the goal.

Kyle Ostrow gave the Eagles a 4-3 lead at 7:29 of the third period. Ostrow was able to get his backhand shot over the glove of Heemskerk for his fourth goal of the season. A.J. Hau picked up the only assist on the goal. Sivak heroically tied the game with 3:26 left in regulation on an awkward shot from the low slot. Sivak's shot from a strange angle got past a surprised Jones. The Bulls penalty-killing unit had to step up when a roughing minor was given to Carlson after Sivak's tying goal.

The game could not be decided after 60 minutes, tied at four, the two teams went to overtime. Both teams exchanged chances in the extra session but could not find a winning goal. Heemskerk stopped all five Colorado shootout attempts, and D. Ouellet scored the only goal for the Bulls on a beautiful back-hand shot over Jones.

The Bulls will head to Las Vegas for two games, Friday at 7:05 and Sunday at 2:05, to finish up their road trip. Follow along on KNBR.com and AmericaOneSports.com. They return to the Cow Palace on March 6 to take on the top team in the Western Conference, the Alaska Aces.
