Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
Greenville, SC: The Greenville Road Warriors announced that over $15,000 was raised as a result of the Pink in the Rink Jersey Auction. The net proceeds will be donated to the Mary Kay Foundation.
The third annual Pink in the Rink Night, held on Sunday, February 24th versus the South Carolina Stingrays, featured special pink uniforms which were auctioned off following the game, pink lines on the ice in place of the normal red lines & faceoff circles and pink spotlights throughout the game. Holli Lowe, sales director for Mary Kay, dropped the ceremonial first puck to begin the game.
"This was a great day and the Road Warriors are proud to help make a difference and support women who are battling cancer or are victims of domestic abuse," said Road Warriors Executive Vice President and General Manager, Chris Lewis. "It is awe inspiring to see how much passion and generosity is put forth by our fans and the Greenville community in supporting such worthy and important causes and we are delighted to be a part of that support."
The night also featured a silent auction on the concourse benefiting the Mary Kay Foundation and Mary Kay had an information center on the concourse to raise awareness about women's breast cancer and domestic abuse. In addition, the Mary Kay Foundation donated shirts for the t-shirt toss from the Mary Kay cars driven around the ice during the first intermission.
