Hustle Set Franchise Records in Big Win over Sioux Falls

Southaven, Miss. - The Memphis Hustle set new season and franchise highs for points (140), three-pointers made (21) and three-point percentage (.568, 21-37) in a 140-112 win against the Sioux Falls Skyforce Wednesday night at Landers Center. The teams tied the regular season series 2-2.

The Hustle led for nearly the entire game and would pull away from Sioux Falls in the second quarter. Sioux Falls was within five (31-26) with 10:25 remaining in the first half before a series of runs helped Memphis outscore the Skyforce 26-10 over the 5:37. The Hustle held a 48-36 lead with 6:21 left in the half when three straight three-pointers (two by Jeremy Morgan, one by Marquis Teague) helped extend the lead to 21 (57-36) with just under five minutes to go. Sioux Falls would get the deficit to no closer than 16 the remainder of the night.

In addition to its record night on offense, the Hustle recorded 33 assists, just two shy of its season-high (35 vs. OKL, 12/10). Memphis owned the night on the glass as well, outrebounding Sioux Falls 54-41 (16-11 on the offensive boards). Chance Comanche (eight offensive rebounds) and Mark Tyndale (seven offensive rebounds) combined for 15 of Memphis' 16 offensive boards.

Seven Hustle players scored in double figures, including all five starters, led by Omari Johnson (27 points, 10-16 FG) with his fourth 20-point performance in his last five games. Johnson also knocked down 7-of-12 three-point attempts. Comanche (21 points, 12 rebounds) wasn't far behind with his fourth double-double and first 20-10 game this season. Marquis Teague contributed 19 points and tied a game-high (Tyndale) with seven assists. Morgan and Shaquille Thomas chipped in with 15 points apiece. Morgan also tied a career-high for rebounds with nine. Myke Henry (14 points) and Dusty Hannahs (13 points) also reached double digits.

Tony Mitchell posted a game-high 28 points off the bench while recording six rebounds, five assists and three blocks. Derrick Walton Jr. posted 15 points. Bubu Palo notched 13 points, five rebounds and four assists. Jimmie Taylor (10 points, nine rebounds) was just one board shy of a double-double. Ike Nwamu (12 points) and Jalen Bradley (11 points) additionally reached double figures for Sioux Falls.

The Hustle travel to the Chicagoland area for a one-game road trip when the take on the Windy City Bulls on Saturday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Sears Centre Arena. The team returns home on Wednesday, March 21 at 7 p.m. against the Austin Spurs. Tickets are still available and start for as low as $10.
