October 26, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
GLENVIEW, Ill. - The Chicago Wolves announced Wednesday that goaltender Ville Husso has been reassigned to the Missouri Mavericks (ECHL) by the St. Louis Blues (NHL).
The 21-year-old rookie started two games for Chicago. In his North American debut versus Grand Rapids on Oct. 15, he made 24 stops in the 4-2 loss. Three games later, Husso again got the start against the San Antonio Rampage at AT&T Center on Oct. 23 and backstopped the Wolves to a 2-1 victory. He made 29 saves in the contest and it marked his first North American professional win.
Through two AHL games, Husso holds a .914 save percentage and 2.53 goals-against average.
The Helsinki native backed up third-year netminder Jordan Binnington in the Wolves season opener on Oct. 14 against Grand Rapids at Van Andel Arena and did not see game action.
The Wolves face their in-state rival, the Rockford IceHogs, for a home-and-home series that begins Friday (Oct. 28) in Rockford. The Wolves return home on Saturday (Oct. 29) for another Illinois Lottery Cup contest against the IceHogs and close out the weekend with a 4 p.m. game against the 2016 Calder Cup champion Cleveland Monsters at Allstate Arena.
