
Hurricanes Sign Trio of Players

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Tuesday that the team has signed defenseman Joe Arntsen and forwards Jett Jones and Nick Dorrington to Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreements.
Arntsen, 15, was drafted by the Hurricanes in the second round (35th overall) in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft. The product of Swift Current, Saskatchewan appeared in 31 games last year with the Swift Current Raiders Bantam AA recording 50 points (19g-31a) along with 32 penalty minutes. He added another eight points (2g-6a) in six post-season games. Arntsen also skated in six games with the Swift Current Legionnaires Midget AAA going pointless.
Jones, 16, was undrafted and listed by the Hurricanes last year. The Olds, Alberta native spent the 2017-2018 season with the Airdrie CFR Bisons appearing in 33 games registering 22 points (16g-6a) and 10 penalty minutes. In 2016-2017, the 6'2", 188-pound forward skated in 36 games collecting 28 points (10g-18a) along with 18 penalty minutes with the Airdrie Xtreme Bantam AAA team. He represented Team Central at the 2017 Alberta Cup.
Dorrington, 16, was also undrafted in the WHL Bantam Draft. The 6'1". 185-pound forward from Langley, BC, dressed in 33 games last year with the Yale Hockey Academy E15's where he put up 32 points (17g-15a) and 30 penalty minutes.
He added seven points (2g-5a) and four penalty minutes in for playoff games. Dorrington also registered six points (2g-4a) and two penalty minutes in eight games with the Yale Hockey Academy Prep team.
The three players will remain with the Hurricanes as the team embarks on the 2018 ENMAX Pre-Season starting this Friday at the ENMAX Centre when the 'Canes host the Medicine Hat Tigers. The Hurricanes currently have 37 players remaining on their roster heading into exhibition play.
