
Hurricanes' Dominant First too Much for Calgary

Lethbridge, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes used a quick start scoring five times in the first period en route to a 6-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen Wednesday night at the ENMAX Centre.
Calgary product Jake Elmer was named the first star for the home side netting a pair of goals and adding an assist. Jake Leschyshyn also tallied three points with a goal and two assists. Jordy Bellerive, Taylor Ross and Nick Henry rounded out the scoring for Lethbridge which snapped a three-game winless slide.
Riley Stotts and Ryder Korczak replied for Calgary.
The Hitmen, 28-21-4-1, will now get to host Medicine Hat in the Lunar Celebration on Friday, Feb. 15. The 7:00 p.m. start at Scotiabank Saddledome will include 200 fortune cookie prizes, dragon dancers and a post-game fireworks show.
It is also the start of a home and home with the Tigers with the rematch the following night on Saturday, Feb. 16 in the Gas City.
