Game Highlights

The Highlanders welcomed the return of Tanner Giddings and Chris Johnson, who both missed last game against the Hurricanes at Centre 200. The Highlanders were without top-scorer Devin Sweetney and Head Coach Bernardo Fitz-Gonzalez for this afternoon's game.

Quarter 1: Highlanders 18, Hurricanes 26

The Hurricanes were able to score by getting behind the Highlanders defense with good passing. The Highlanders found rebounds and followed through at the basket on both sides of the court to keep the score close early. Halifax held a 4-point lead midway through the quarter. The Hurricanes put up points with good shooting from distance. The Highlanders played well but trailed by 8 at the end of the 1st quarter.

Quarter 2: Highlanders 43, Hurricanes 54

The Highlanders were not able to contain the Hurricanes offense as Halifax capitalized on turnovers and continued to shoot well. The Highlanders continued to drive to the basket and earn points from the free-throw line before gaining momentum and bringing the score within 3 halfway through the 2nd quarter. The Hurricanes regained momentum and led by 11 at the half.

Quarter 3: Highlanders 62, Hurricanes 83

The Highlanders scored early in the 2nd half, but the Hurricanes managed to continue putting up points as well. The Hurricanes forced turnovers and played aggressively and extended their lead to 17 points over the Highlanders halfway through the 3rd quarter. The Hurricanes played a fast-paced game that the Highlanders could not keep up with and Halifax led by 21 heading into the final frame.

Quarter 4: Highlanders 91, Hurricanes 117

The 4th quarter was fast-paced as the Highlanders tried to answer the Hurricanes aggressiveness but were unable to close the gap and the Hurricanes earned the victory. The Highlanders have two games remaining in the regular season, against the Saint John Riptide and Island Storm respectively. In the upcoming playoffs, the Highlanders are expected to play either the Moncton Magic or the Halifax Hurricanes.
