
London just Misses out on the Victory

(Sudbury, ON) The London Lightning were not able to pull out a victory after they lost against the Sudbury FIVE 114 to 108. The game was close all the way through with the lead changing several times and never getting too high in one teams favour, the highest being 10 with Sudbury leading. There were 17 lead changes for the game as well as 7 ties to demonstrate the closeness and back and forth nature of the game. The FIVE were able to get ahead and keep the lead towards the end that sealed them the victory. The Lightning had the lead numerous times but with both teams playing very even the FIVE got on a run late and that gave London the loss.
The Lightning were solid as a group offensively with 2 players sharing the spot as top scorer with both Mo Bolden and Marvin Phillips topping off with 19. Both shot 50% from the field, Bolden 7-14 and Phillips 6-12. Both tallied stats in other areas as well with Mo focusing on passing with his 6 assists, and Marvin on the boards with this 7 rebounds. There were four other players in double digits for scoring which included Moon's 17, Williamson's 14, finishing off with Gaines and Johnson getting 13.
The Lightning will head out on the road for their next game coming against Windsor on March 29th , this Friday night for their second last game of the season. The next home game for London will be their last coming on Sunday March 31st against the Express.
