LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Friday the acquisition of 2003-born forward Rhys Raeside from the Winnipeg ICE in exchange for an eighth-round draft pick in the 2022 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft.

Raeside, 18, was undrafted in the WHL Draft. The Winnipeg, Manitoba product has skated in nine career WHL games with the ICE, including four during the 2020-2021 season where he collected one assist and seven penalty minutes. The 6'3, 210-pound forward has appeared in two games this season with the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Portage Terriers totaling one assist and 16 penalty minutes.

The 18-year-old racked up 36 points (16g-20a) and 41 penalty minutes in 47 games with the Winnipeg Blues in 2019- 2020 as a 16-year-old. Raeside has totaled 44 points (19g-25a) and 69 penalty minutes in 57 career MJHL games. The Hurricanes open the 2021-2022 regular season tonight when they welcome the Calgary Hitmen at 7:00pm at the ENMAX Centre in the Dairy Queen Home Opener.
