October 1, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Spokane Chiefs News Release
Spokane, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs announced on Friday that German forward Yannick Proske has arrived in Spokane and will join the team immediately. Proske was the Chiefs' second-round (110th overall) pick in the 2021 CHL Import Draft.
"We're excited to welcome Yannick to Spokane and the team," said General Manager Scott Carter. "Unfortunately, we had to navigate unusually complicated immigration challenges due to COVID which delayed his arrival. He has shown great patience in the process and we're thrilled to finally have him here."
Proske, who signed his WHL Standard Player Agreement in late July, is a 6-foot-2, 187-pound center from Weißwasser, Germany. Last season, he played 25 games with the Iserlohn Roosters of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), the top professional league in Germany.
He also wore an 'A' as an alternate captain for Team Germany at the 2021 IIHF U18 World Championship in Texas, scoring two points (1G-1A) in 7 games.
Proske will wear jersey number 27 with Spokane. He will be eligible to play immediately, though it is not determined if he will suit up this weekend.
