
Hurricanes Announce Exhibition Schedule

RALEIGH, NC-Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the team's exhibition schedule for the 2008 preseason. The Hurricanes will open their preseason game schedule on Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the RBC Center against the Southeast Division Champion Washington Capitals.
Prior to hosting the Capitals, the Hurricanes will play their annual Red-White scrimmage at the RBC Center, as part of the annual Caniac Carnival, on Sunday, Sept. 21. The event is free to the public, and further details will be released closer to that date.
Following their opener against Washington, Carolina will travel to the nation's capital to face the Caps at Verizon Center on Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. The Hurricanes will play a back-to-back, home-and-home set with the Philadelphia Flyers beginning on Sept. 27 at Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, and concluding with a 5 p.m. match-up with the Flyers at the RBC Center on Sunday, Sept. 28. After taking on the Predators in Nashville on Oct. 2, Carolina wraps up its preseason schedule with a home game against the Predators on Sunday, Oct. 5.
