Hurricanes agree to terms with Rob Zepp

RALEIGH, NC - Jason Karmanos, Vice President and Assistant General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with goaltender Rob Zepp on a one-year contract. As per club policy, no other terms were announced.

"Rob is a good, young goaltender who brings depth to our system," said Karmanos. "He was a big part of the Everblades' Eastern Conference championship and run to the Kelly Cup finals."

In 2003-04, Zepp (6' 1", 190 lbs) posted a 14-13-7 record and a 2.95 goals-against average in 35 games with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. He recorded an 8-3 record and a 2.72 goals-against average in 12 games during Florida's run to the Kelly Cup finals which included the team's first Eastern Conference championship.

The Hurricanes selected Zepp in the fourth round, 110th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. The 22 year-old Newmarket, Ont., native has posted a 40-31-16 regular-season record and a 2.95 goals-against average in 89 regular-season games in three seasons with Florida. Zepp has also posted a 1-4-2 reocrd in seven American Hockey League games with Lowell.
