
Hurricanes Acquire Pick for Picklyk

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Thursday they have acquired a sixth-round draft pick in the 2024 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft from the Tri-City Americans in exchange for 2003-born goaltender Jared Picklyk.
Picklyk, 19, was originally drafted by the Hurricanes in the seventh-round (148th overall) in the 2018 WHL Draft. The Kelowna, BC, product appeared in 38 career games for the Hurricanes posting a 14-14-2-0 record with a 3.53 goals against average (GAA) and a .879 save percentage (SV%). He appeared in a career-high 25 games in the 2021-2022 season finishing with a record of 10-7-2-0 with a 3.48 GAA and a .880 SV% and has gone 4-5-0-0 in nine starts this season.
"Jared won us some big games down the stretch last season and was big in helping us make the playoffs," said Hurricanes General Manager Peter Anholt. "He was a key member of our group for the three seasons. We wish Jared all the best moving forward."
With the move, the Hurricanes trim to two goaltenders: Bryan Thomson and Harrison Meneghin.
The Hurricanes welcome the Red Deer Rebels on Friday at 7:00pm before welcoming the Edmonton Oil Kings on Saturday at 7:00pm at the ENMAX Centre.
