How 'Bout 'Dem Mavs?
June 13, 2005 - Frontier League (FL)
Mid-Missouri Mavericks News Release
The Mid-Missouri Mavericks may be looking up at all of their division rivals in the Frontier League's West Division, but they're holding their own on the road against the division leaders.
After squandering leads in three of their first four games against the 2004 Frontier League Champs, Mid- Missouri finally toppled the River Hawks 7-5 Sunday night at Marinelli Field. The victory was especially sweet because the Mavericks came from behind to win, scoring three runs in the 9th inning. Travis New (1-0) tossed two perfect innings to collect the victory. Thomari Story-Harden continued his recent offense splurge, going 4-5 with 3 RBI.
The Mavericks will finish off their six-game road-trip tonight in Rockford, Illinois. Steve Soja gets the ball for the Mavs against the RiverHawks' Joe Barbosa. Game time is 7:05 PM and can be heard live on www.midmomavs.com, beginning at 6:50 with the Budweiser Pre-Game Show.
The Mavericks return home on Tuesday, June 14th as they begin a six game homestand. They'll play the first three against Florence Freedom. Then on the 17th, the Mavs will host the first of three against the Chillicothe Paints.
