Chillicothe Paints News Release
The Chillicothe Paints signed two new players to contracts over the weekend.
Temetric "Tee" Thomas, a middle infielder, was signed on Saturday to provide reinforcement for the Paints' infield after it was learned that regular third baseman, Doug Dreher, is expected to sit out for 10-14 days while nursing a hamstring injury.
Thomas, age 23, was a 24th round draft choice of the St. Louis Cardinals in 2003. He played for New Jersey in the New York-Penn League in 2003 and for Johnson City of the Appalachian League in the first half of 2004 before being released and signed by the Florence Freedom.
He played in 50 games for Florence and batted .245.
The Paints signed southpaw pitcher, Bryce Bednarczyk, to a contract on Sunday after releasing lefty, Keith Bowman. Bowman hurled just 3.1 innings for the Paint this year, allowing six earned runs on seven hits and four walks. He had a hefty 16.20 ERA.
Bednarczyk, age 24, is a product of Ashland University and Columbus State Community College where he earned All-American status. A native of Hebron, Ohio, Bryce was named Ohio Division II High School Player of the Year following his senior prep season at Lakewood High School.
