Ricardo Clark scored in the second half as the Dynamo secured a 1-0 win over the Philadelphia Union on Saturday night at BBVA Compass Stadium. The home win snapped a seven-game winless streak and moved the Dynamo within a point of Philadelphia and Sporting Kansas City for third place in the Eastern Conference.

After playing three league games without a goal, Clark snapped Houston's scoreless streak in the 59th minute. Giles Barnes began the sequence with a run down the left flank toward the corner of the penalty area before playing the ball wide to left back Jermaine Taylor. The Jamaican defender floated a first-touch cross into the six-yard box and Clark headed it into the far side of the net for the game-winner.

It was Clark's second goal of the season after he scored in the season opener on March 2.

It was also Clark's tenth career regular season goal with the Dynamo. He is now tied with Cam Weaver and Nate Jacqua for seventh on the franchise list.

It was Taylor's first assist of the season and the third of the year for Barnes.

Houston (7-6-5; 26 points) remains in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings, a point back of Philadelphia (7-6-6) and Sporting Kansas City (7-5-6).

The Dynamo earned the win while missing three players due to international duty or suspension. Forward Will Bruin and defender Corey Ashe are with the U.S. national team for the CONCACAF Gold Cup while defender Kofi Sarkodie served a one-game suspension for yellow card accumulation.

Philadelphia was without forward Jack McInerney (U.S.) and midfielder Keon Daniel (Trindad and Tobago), as the pair are also away for the Gold Cup.

The Dynamo outnumbered the Union in several offensive categories, including: shots (21-11), shots on goal (6-3), corner kicks (8-4) and possession (61%-39%).

Midfielder Boniek Garcia made his first appearance since May 26 after missing four games due to international duty and injury.

Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall made three saves for his sixth shutout of the season and his second consecutive home shutout.

It was Hall's 25th career regular season shutout.

It was also the Dynamo goalkeeper's 90th career regular season start to pass Eddie Robinson for 11th on the franchise list. In addition, it was Hall's 115th career game in all competitions with Houston to pass Richard Mulrooney for 14th on the club's all-time list.

It was Clark's 125th career regular season game with the Dynamo.

Saturday was forward Cam Weaver's 75th career regular season game.

It was Taylor's 50th career regular season start.
