LANGLEY, B.C. - Seattle Sounders FC conceded four second-half goals as the Vancouver Whitecaps FC won, 4-0, in the MLS Reserve League on Sunday morning.

Sounders FC (1-4-1, 4 points) sits at the bottom of the West Division while the Whitecaps FC (3-0-3, 12 points) jumps to the top of the reserve league standings.

Vancouver's Erik Hurtado and Sam Adekugbe both recorded a goal and assist and Tommy Heinemann added the final two tallies. Seattle put five of its 15 total shots on goal, and held the advantage in corner kicks, 7-5.

Hurtado scored the first goal for the Whitecaps in the 56th minute when he blasted an 18-yard shot through a crowded box and past Marcus Hahnemann. Vancouver doubled its lead just seven minutes later when Adekugbe collected a pass from Hurtado in the box and finished past Hahnemann.

After making a save in the 66th minute, Hahnemann was replaced by Doug Herrick for the remainder of the match.

Vancouver's third goal came in the 74th minute when Heinemann tapped in Marco Bustos' cross. Heinemann added a second strike in second-half stoppage time when he beat Herrick on a breakaway.

Sounders FC had several dangerous scoring opportunities throughout the match. In the 29th minute, Marc Burch - who wore the captain's armband - sent a cross to Sammy Ochoa in the box, who flicked it onto Will Bates for a header that sailed just over the crossbar. Ochoa had several chances in the opening 60 minutes, leading all players with four total shots.

After falling behind 3-nil late in the game, Sounders FC continued to press for goals as Ochoa and Henry Wingo put consecutive shots on target in the 89th minute. One minute later, Burch rocketed a free kick from the edge of the box that was eventually cleared for a corner kick.

Sounders FC will host the Colorado Rapids on July 21 in the next MLS Reserve League match. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. PT at Starfire Sports in Tukwila, Wash.
