Houston Dynamo FC News Release

Houston Dynamo head coach Wilmer Cabrera

(on how the team feels) "We feel good, we feel good. We feel that we have done what we could do up to this point. Then, we have to continue moving forward but we have a great test in front of us. So, we feel that we are ready. Hopefully, tomorrow we can be at the level and the players can be on the level to play Seattle Sounders."

(on finally starting the MLS season) "It feels good, because we did all the work, we worked hard, we are trying to put a team together and now it's the first test out of the 34 that we are going to have. So, it's going to be really important to face and to just think about the game."

(on what stood out about the team) "Basically the players are hungry to have a good season, to perform well as a team and also that we are going to play to our strengths. They know their strengths right now and what we are not great at; we are not going to try to improvise. That's something very positive and it gives me a lot of confidence."

(on Seattle Sounders) "Really tough game, they are the champions of 2016. Now every game they are going to play they need to prove why they were the champions. It's a very attractive game, very, very good team individually. Therefore, they are the best. So, it's a good challenge."

(on what will the Dynamo offer this season) "We are going to have a team that's mindset is to play 90 minutes, they'll try to play soccer as a team. Individually they will try to demonstrate their strengths they at the best of their ability."

Houston Dynamo DF A.J. DeLaGarza

(on starting the regular season) "It's good to get to what really matters. We've been building up to this point and it starts tomorrow, hopefully it ends in December. It is a long season and I believe we are prepared for it."

(on the difference between training with this team and his past team) "The chemistry, already it has grown tremendously. The players that we have are very good technically. I honestly think we can surprise a lot of people this year. In my opinion, the West (Western Conference) is more demanding than the Eastern Conference. I still think we can be a top team in this league and make a good run."

Houston Dynamo FW Erick Torres

(on how does he feel) "Good, to be honest. Happy. Very hopeful because of the new season. Hopeful because we did a good preseason, we prepared well for the beginning of the season. I think, tomorrow is going to be a great test to demonstrate what we've been working on, to show how prepared we are. (We are going) against a great rival, against a team that has quality players. I think, tomorrow it's going to be a great game, it's a game that is going to be complicated for both teams; both teams are going to enjoy it. We have no doubt that we are going to win tomorrow and we will give joy to our fans."

(on what the fans can expect from the Dynamo) "I think this is a new year, it's a new season. As I said, I think we have prepared really well. This year all the new players are committed, they want to help the team. What fans can expect what people should be looking forward, what I guarantee to you is that we are going to give our all in the field. We want to put this team in the top, we want to take this organization back to the playoffs, we want for this team to known as the competitive team it has been known as. That's what fans can expect from us. We are going to chase every ball, we are going to fight for every ball, we are not going to slack off at any moment, we are going to be working as a team inside the field. When you put all those things together, those details will make the difference and they will let's come out victorious tomorrow."

(on Seattle Sounders) "We know that it is tough team, the reigning champion, they players that are game changers in their offense. We are expecting a tough Seattle, we expect a team that will try to get the three points as a visiting team. That makes us compromise even more, we know we will have to do double effort, that we have to go out and win. We are at home with our people, our fans. We have to start with the right foot. We have prepared ourselves well to out for the win and give our fans something to be happy about."
