HOUSTON (Thursday, April 17, 2014) - The Houston Dynamo announced today details of an open tryout for aspiring soccer players. Dynamo Trials 2014 will begin on Saturday, May 10 at Houston Sports Park and is open to soccer players 17 years of age and older.
This is the ninth consecutive year in which tryouts have been held. More than 200 soccer players from around the world participated in last year's edition of Dynamo Trials, competing for a spot on the Dynamo's first team. The tryout is comprised of a fitness test, skills competition and a game against the Dynamo Academy U-18 team. Participants who pass the fitness test, held on May 10, will be invited back the following day for the skills competition. From there, a select group of players will be invited to compete against the Dynamo Academy U-18s. Players will be evaluated by first team and academy staff.
Registration for Dynamo Trials is $125 and includes a Dynamo Trials T-shirt and two tickets to the Dynamo vs. Real Salt Lake match on May 11 at BBVA Compass Stadium. Partial proceeds from Dynamo Trials 2014 will benefit Dynamo Charities in support of the Dynamo's youth development system.
