Houston Dynamo Make Roster Moves Ahead of Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Match

HOUSTON - The Houston Dynamo signed seven players to short-term agreements ahead of the club's fourth-round Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against NTX Rayados at BBVA Compass Stadium on Wednesday night. Additionally, the club has waived DF George Malki.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CDT and the match will be streamed live at HoustonDynamo.com/live.

The seven players signed to short-term agreements are defenders Omar Ontiveros and Manny Padilla; midfielders Jesus Enriquez, John Montaño, Todd Wharton and Matías Zaldívar; and forward Aldo Quintanilla.

Major League Soccer clubs may sign players from their USL affiliates to short-term agreements of up to four days for the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, Amway Canadian Championship, Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and designated exhibition matches. An MLS club may sign a player to a maximum of four short-term agreements each season for a maximum of 16 days. Clubs are not permitted to call up players from their youth academy or USL players not signed to professional contracts.

Malki signed with the Dynamo on March 1, 2017 after playing the 2016 season with RGV FC.

TRANSACTION: The Houston Dynamo sign DF Omar Ontiveros, DF Manny Padilla, MF Jesus Enriquez, MF John Montaño, MF Todd Wharton, MT Matías Zaldívar and FW Aldo Quintanilla to short-term agreements from RGV FC. The Dynamo waive DF George Malki.

Following Wednesday's match, the Dynamo will return to league play when they host the Colorado Rapids at BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday, June 9. Kickoff for that match is set for 8:00 p.m. CDT.
