Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON (Monday, Oct. 18, 2021) - Houston Dynamo FC forward Darwin Quintero was named to the MLSSoccer.com Team of the Week after leading Houston to a 2-1 victory over Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday.
This is the first Team of the Week honor for Quintero this season. The forward tallied his second assist of the season in the opening goal of Saturday's game. Quintero curled a free kick into the box for FW Maxi Urruti, who hit a side volley for the first goal of the match.
Quintero doubled Houston's lead in the 20th minute with a fantastic individual effort that began outside the penalty area. The forward flicked the ball over a Sounders defender, dribbled past two more Seattle players to create space for a shot at the far post. The forward also led the team with seven key passes against the Sounders on Saturday to snap a six-game losing streak against Seattle.
The Dynamo returns to action at 7:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at PNC Stadium when they host the LA Galaxy. This is the second meeting between both teams after Houston and Los Angeles split the points with a 1-1 draw in Southern California on Sept. 15.
