'Hounds Take Finale on Walk-Off Blast

Midland, TX - Midland's Tyler Soderstrom drilled a pinch-hit walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the RockHounds beat the Arkansas Travelers, 3-2 on Sunday afternoon. After a two-run first inning, the Travs were blanked the rest of the afternoon. The game was tied from the third inning until Soderstrom's blast leading off the ninth for the RockHounds only lead of the day. Chase Cohen was the winner out of the Midland bullpen with a scoreless inning while Collin Kober was tagged with the loss.
Moments That Mattered
* Cade Marlowe doubled in a run in the first to make it 2-0 but his double bounced over the fence in right field likely preventing another run from scoring on the play.
* Tanner Kirwer doubled with one out in the seventh, the Travs first base runner since the second inning, but was stranded there in the team's best chance to retake the lead late.
