Houle returns, two call-ups for Titans

TRENTON, NJ (February 26, 2004) - The Trenton Titans announced today that the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League have reassigned rookie goaltender Chris Houle.

Houle – 6'3", 197 lbs – has been playing back-up for the Phantoms, with starter Antero Niittymaki filling in for the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL). Houle appeared in 4 games for the Phantoms going 0-2 with a 1.63 GAA and a .933 save percentage. The native of Caslan, Alberta will be available for this weekend's games. To make room on the roster, goaltender Shawn Conschafter was released.

In separate transactions, the Titans also announced that P.J. Martin has been loaned to the Binghamton Senators (AHL) and Nick Deschenes has been recalled by the Philadelphia Phantoms.

Martin – 6'2", 200 – receives his third assignment to the AHL this season. The rookie defenseman has 6 goals and 13 assists in 49 games played for the Titans this season.

Deschenes – 6'3, 220 – has notched 5 points (1g, 4a) in six games with the Titans this season. The first-year pro out of Morinville, Alberta played for four years at Yale University, recording 87 points (36g, 51a) in 114 games.

The Trenton Titans are a member of the ECHL – America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Trenton Titans play at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ. The Titans begin a two-game series at home.
