ECHL Charlotte Checkers

Checkers game tonight in Greensboro postponed

February 26, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Charlotte Checkers News Release

(Charlotte, NC - Thursday, February 26) Tonight's scheduled ECHL game between the Charlotte Checkers and the Greensboro Generals at the Greensboro Coliseum has been postponed. The announcement was made today at 12:30 p.m. by Checkers President, Jeff Longo, and interim Head Coach and General Manager, Derek Wilkinson. No makeup date has been set.

"With all the snow already falling in the Charlotte area and heavy snow forecast for Greensboro, we felt it would be best for all concerned to postpone tonight's game," remarked Wilkinson. "Both teams will work on rescheduling the game for sometime in March."

The Checkers are currently in the midst of a four-game road trip, and are tied for the fourth and final playoff spot in the ECHL's Southern Division with the South Carolina Stingrays. Following what will now be a three-game road trip, the Checkers will be back on home ice Friday, March 5 at Cricket Arena to host the Dayton Bombers on "Pucks & Prayers" night.
