
Hot Welch Is ACHL Player Of The Week

Lately Macon Trax right winger Edan Welch has been like King Midas, with the "goal"den touch. And Welch has been recognized as the Atlantic Coast Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday March 9th.
Welch had three goals in the Trax two games last week, scoring twice against Cape Fear in a 4-3 win on Friday and getting the game winning goal for the Trax in their 5-3 win over Jacksonville on Saturday. Welch's second goal against Cape Fear came in overtime and gave the Trax a win that put them in the playoffs.
Welch now has a five game goal scoring streak, in which he has scored seven goals. On the season he has 25 goals and 27 assists for 52 points.
The Trax conclude their current 10 game road trip this Wednesday at Jacksonville at 7 p.m. against the Barracudas. That game can be heard on the internet at www.macontrax.com or www.IRN.FM starting at 7 p.m. Eastern time. The Trax return home Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Cape Fear. The Trax last regular season home game is Saturday against Orlando at 7:30 p.m.
The Trax hold their hour long Hockey Happy Hour at Locos Deli & Pub every Monday at 6 p.m., which can also be heard on the internet link. Season tickets for 2003-04 are now on sale.
